Private villas with optional beach club access · Kefalonia, Greece

Villa Club is for families and friends who want the independence of a private villa with a pool, with the option of adding the watersports and activities of the Lixouri Bay Beach Club. Guests stay in their own self-catering villa, about ten minutes by car from the club, and can dip in and out of the beach club action as they please.

An optional Active Pack gives unlimited use of the club’s RYA watersports centre, including sailing, windsurfing, winging, paddleboarding and kayaking, as well as bikes and yoga and fitness sessions. It works well for groups where some people want a week on the water and others just want to relax by the villa pool. All Villa Club guests can use the beach club’s pool, bar, restaurant and sun beds.

What’s included

Optional extras: the Active Pack (beach club access, watersports and other activities) and a daily breakfast delivery to the villa. Scuba diving, RYA one-to-one courses and day yacht trips can be booked locally.

The Active Pack

Everyone using the watersports kit takes part in a short safety chat on the first morning, at the beach. Qualified RYA instructors run the beach operation, with rescue boats, buoyancy aids and restricted sailing areas. The Active Pack is optional, so not everyone in the villa needs to take it.

Food

Villa Club is self-catering. There are supermarkets, mini-markets, bakeries and cafes in Lixouri, a short drive away, and the beach club taverna serves lunch and dinner daily. Beach tavernas such as Lepeda and Petani are worth a trip, and Xi Beach has lively beach bars.

Families

There is no children’s club or childcare, but the beach team run group tuition for all ages and kids’ watersports sessions during the week, which is a good way for children to make friends on the water.

Getting there

Fly to Kefalonia airport, about three hours from the UK. The villas are about an hour’s transfer from the airport, and a hire car is included. We recommend using it for the week, though taxis between the villas and the club are easy to arrange.
